DIWARI DANCE IN KHAJURAHO
This photo shows the popular Diwari dance of Bundelkhand. Since ancient times, people here celebrate Diwali with great enthusiasm by performing Diwari dance. On this day, devotees of Lord Krishna observe a silent fast, hence they are called “Monia”. These Monias, while dancing with peacock feathers in their hands, worship the gods and goddesses of 07 different villages and circumambulate them and finally break their fast. In our Special Interest Tour “Diwali with Bundeli Festival Culture” which takes place on the day of Diwali, we give chance to all our tourists to enjoy the Diwali Festival and Diwari Dance to the fullest by taking them around the city so that they can understand this festival as well as meet the Monia Dancers and their team.
