A WOMEN MAKING BUTTER
Since ancient times, women in India have been extracting butter from their homes with the help of a pot and churner, which is very amazing, interesting and worth seeing. This became popular when in the Dwapar era, Lord Krishna used to steal butter from a pot in his childhood and say that since butter was his favourite, he used to steal it and perform his delightful acts and even today people offer butter as Prasad first in their worship. On the day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival (The Birthday of Lord krishna), even today people celebrate Handi Mahotsav in every street in which a they make Shri Krishna to a small child and make procession of it, after which the small Shri Krishna breaks the pot and eats butter from it and distributes it among others. In the modern age, people do this work with the help of many machines, that is why pots and churners are not used in many parts of India, but this tradition can still be seen in Bundelkhand, people here still use the old recipe to extract butter, which we show to the tourists coming here through our local tours and introduce them to the local people.
